We are in the final stages of implementing the mailing list for the Writer Panel. There will be two mailing lists, one will be a required list that all active writers will be a member of so that we can send important messages to all of the writers at once.
The second mailing list will be an optional list which will email members when new articles become available to be written. This mailing list may have the potential of sending a good number of emails each day so it’s up to you if you’d like to be a member of it.
Everyone should have received a welcome email saying that you’ve been added to the list. Disregard the subscribe/unsubscribe comments in the email, those features will be incorporated into the writer panel itself .
The first, required mailing list is set to go however I’m still working on building the features of the optional mailing list into the Writer Panel. I am hoping to have it done in the next few days.
Thanks,
Matt
Thank YOU, Matt!
You’re the best, thanks Matt!
Thanks Matt 🙂
Thank you for all your work on that, Matt!
The article notifications are coming in just fine. Just wish I was not on the road this week when they arrived! Thanks for your hard work, Matt.
I do have one question, Matt. Do we get a notification only for new articles or also for articles that are put back into the queue for some reason like time expiration or rejection?
Thanks!
Hello Cheryl,
Brand new articles as well as articles that have passed their due date both result in an email going out to the mailing list. Christine manually going in and changing the article’s claimed status to unclaimed does not send out an email. It was originally set up to email then as well but there was a bug where 5 or 6 emails could go out for the same article within a minute of each other so I disabled it.
I’ve been gone for the past week so I haven’t been able to go back in and fix it, but it is on my To-Do list.
Matt
