Good Afternoon Writers!
The following are a few questions to ask yourself when sorting through links. If you can answer ‘yes’ to all of the following questions, you know you have a great link on your hands. Happy hunting!
- Does the link end in .gov, .mil, .k12, or .edu?
(there are many more endings, but these are the most authoritative) - Is the content applicable to the audience?
- Does the content of the link strengthen the content of the article?
- Is the link free of any advertising?
We’d love to hear your tips for finding authoritative links!
Good Afternoon,
I would like to have clarification on link descriptions and how the sentences should read. I am a little unclear. I have been doing it the same way since I started writing for QG and recently told its unacceptable. Please verify how I am to write a description. Thanks so much!
Hi Gina,
I’ve included a couple of examples of good link descriptions.
Please feel free to email with specific questions. Thanks!
