Looking for Freelance Editors

Hi QG Writers!

For a variety of reasons, we’re now looking for some freelance editors to take some of the load off here at QG.  With some of our other responsibilities increasing, we need high-quality editors we can rely on to perform the task quickly and at an extremely high level.

The idea of using freelancers is still somewhat in its infancy, and we will be nailing down the process in coming days, but if the idea of editing articles appeals to you, please email us at [email protected] and we will send an editing test for you to complete.  If you pass that test, you’ll be considered as a freelance editor and we will be in further contact.

Have a great weekend everybody!

From a Former Blogging Cynic

I’ve written professionally for longer than I care to share; it’s something that I can’t not do. I think it’s an obsession for every professional writer, and editor, for that matter. A colleague of mine and I joke that it’s a “sickness.” We have to write, and we have to correct every grammar error we see and hear. I drive my family and friends crazy; but hey, they drive me crazy too, so it’s a fair toss.

I’m a narcissist and a purist. I admit it; it’s a character flaw, but it’s who I am. So, I’m sure you can imagine that when blogging became such a popular form of writing, I was, well, DISGUSTED! Blogging was not professional writing in my book, and bloggers were not professional writers.

Infographic: The Pros and Cons of Being a Freelancer

Happy Friday, Everyone!

We found this and wanted to share – continue through to see; thought it was well done and provided some interesting numbers to consider. One little disclaimer to note though it that these numbers are not specific to freelance writing, it’s talking about freelancers in general, regardless of field or type of work being completed.

Thanks & Have a Great Weekend!

The Great A-xperiment Ends

Happy Tuesday QG Writers!

I have some good news and some bad news.  As I learned in Looney Tunes cartoons, I’ll start with the bad news first.

The bad news is The Great A-xperiment (paying $40 for an A) is over.  It was good while it lasted, but alas, nothing gold can stay.

The good news is that there is more than one piece of good news.
